Smart Disposal – A Prescription for a Healthy Planet

Out of date antibiotics and other prescription medications do not disappear if you flush them down the drain or throw them in the trash; it ends up in our waterways.  These ecosystems are fragile and chemical compounds create a wide range of problems — anti-biotic resistance bacteria and malformed reproductive organs in fish and amphibians just to name a few.

Add “cleaning out the medicine cabinet” to your fall tasks, and take your old medications to one of the following Walgreens in Greensboro locations on Saturday, October 16 from 11:00a.m. to 1p.m.

1600 Spring Garden Street

3701 High Point Road

300 E. Cornwallis Drive

4701 W. Market Street

3703 Lawndale Drive

5727 High Point Road

3529 N. Elm Street

A joint effort between Walgreens, Greensboro Beautiful, Guilford Cares, Safe Guilford, and the City of Greensboro
