Ignite Greensboro – January 17th Event

Ignite Greensboro is a student lead group, headed by Zim Ugochukwu. The “Lets Raise a Million” program works with  volunteers who go to a group of houses and install compact fluorescent light bulbs at no cost to the residents while beginning a conversation about leading a more sustainable lifestyle.

Participants are put in groups of 5-7 with a team leader and given a list of houses in the community. They go to those assigned houses (residents are participating voluntarily) and install Compact fluorescent light bulbs at no cost to the residents. They also engage in conversation that deals with “going green,” energy saving tips etc. Every volunteer will run through a short training from 1-2 before being sent out into the field!
