Earth Day Participant: Benevolence Farm

Benevolence Farm provides a free holistic transitional living program for up to 12 women leaving North Carolina prisons where women earn an income by working on the farm. They develop skills in organic farming, small business practices, food preparation, and presentation. Benevolence Farm seeks to benefit the community through increased food security, increased safety, preservation of farmland and rural culture, sustainable housing, and women better prepared to care for themselves and their families.

Special thanks to Helen Marie for putting together a series of Earth Day spotlight posts!
