Press Release – Local & Sustainable Food Event

Troxler to moderate local food discussion at UNCG WednesdayWHAT:Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler will moderate a panel discussion focusing on local and sustainable agriculture at UNC-Greensboro. The event, organized by the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, is part of the Commissioner’s Speakers Series, which aims to educate college students about the issues facing modern agriculture and today’s farmers.
The panel will consist of farmers, restaurateurs and professors involved in the local foods movement, including Jay Pierce, Lucky 32 Southern Kitchen; Rick Cecil and Robert Smothers, Piedmont Triad Farmers Market; Dr. Michael McIntosh, UNC-Greensboro; Dennis W. Quaintance, Quaintance-Weaver Restaurants & Hotels; and farmers Kenneth Rudd and James Kenan.
